Millet Vegetable Biryani
  1. Navena = ½ cup
  2. Water = 1 ½ cup
  3. Salt as needed
  4. Gee or Oil
  5. Chopped vegetable (carrots, beans, peas, potatoes, small onion sliced)
  6. Few mint leaves chopped
  7. Grated ginger or ginger garlic past
  8. Bay leaf = 1
  9. Green cardamoms = 2
  10. Cloves = 4
  11. Small star flower or few petals = 1
  12. Strand mace
  13. Shahi jeera = ¼ tsp

Step 1

Wash and soak millets in lot of warm water for about one hour

Step 2

Heat a pan with oil, saute dry apices dry spices till they beyin to sizle

Step 3

Add ginger garlic paste and fry till you get a nice aroma

Step 4

Add vegetables and mint, fry for 3 to 4 minutes, till the raw smell goes away

Step 5

Pour water and add salt as needed, bring it to a boil

Step 6

Drain off the water from millets, add then to the boiling water

Step 7

Cook on a medium to low flame till they are cooked fully. If the biryani still has water, on a high fame just evaporate the water. Off the stove.

Step 8

Keep it covered for about 7minutes. & it is ready to serve
